tangled up in blue

I love getting Weston up from a nap. He's so warm and wants to cuddle.  He likes to rub his face on his blanket when he's falling asleep so he's always tangled up in his covers when he wakes up. Weston will be 6 mths old this Saturday.   He loves doing the 'raspberries', it seems he's always drenched with drool.  He's learned how to scream too when you don't get him what he wants fast enough.

fast forward

Fast forward through more packing, moving furniture and unpacking and you will find us here, somewhat tired but mostly happy and enjoying the new place.  The boys love their new yard.  Our neighbors have a lovely apricot tree and a plum tree that drops its fruit into our yard.  I spoke with the neighbor and she said it should be safe to eat and we should feel free to eat whatever hangs over the fence.  I was glad to hear that considering Caleb has probably already eaten his weight in plums.  I'll add some pictures soon!

4 days left!

I'm in the midst of packing and cleaning.  After 6 years in this apartment we are renting a little house with a yard! We are all very excited.  Its kind of sad too to be leaving here, we brought Caleb and West home to this place.  It sounds sappy I know.  But these are the times in life when we should be sappy I think and reflective of all the things that God has done in our lives.  We move this weekend and I will be up to my eyeballs in boxes and cleaning products till then (and all the while sappily reminiscing).

4th of July

Caleb and his very good friend Calum are in the front seat and Debbie and
Elliot are riding in the back.
Here's Jack and Caleb enjoying their sparklers.  Caleb decided that they were called
"fire sticks".

We went over to our pastors house yesterday for the annual 4th of July festivities with our church family.    Caleb laughed himself silly driving the little cart around until he ran over a tomato plant then it was put away.  We had a delicious dinner then set off fireworks.  Caleb looked scared when the fireworks would go off then after he would say that it was awesome. Weston didnt seem to mind the fireworks either, every once in awhile he would get startled by the noise but he didn't cry.

Curious George, baby sister

Last night at dinner Caleb was telling us that we needed a baby sister and a girl.  Not a baby sister that is a girl and not a girl thats a sister but one of each. We tried for a while to figure out exactly what he meant and then eventually gave up and said 'yeah we do need a baby sister and a girl'.  So a couple of hours later he comes out of his room with his Curious George and proclaims it to be his baby sister.  So of course we had to change her diaper and put on an actual diaper and then we borrowed some of Westons clothes to put on her as well.  This morning he came out with George and I said "how is your baby sister?" and he looked at me like I was clueless and said "he's a boy baby mom".  He went on to change George's diaper and put on clean clothes and even pretended to feed him.  This is a change of pace from his usual pretendings which include: spiderman, ninja, jedi, policeman, robber (he pronounces it wobber) or break dancer. He is working on getting his headstand perfected and can do some spin moves like break dancers do.
