lovely afternoon

Today is a beautiful day in my backyard.  So we decided to have a picnic.   I love the color of the green leaves against the blue sky,  I can't seem to get over that one,  it just amazes me.  Anyway, we had a lovely picnic filled with laughter and followed by a short baseball game.  Caleb decided he needed to take his shirt off to get 'nice and cold'.  Oh yeah in that top picture is the new snake Matt found at work and brought home for us to look at.  I think its a baby California King snake, which is harmless to humans by the way, although the name just sounds like it should be poisonous!

ok

My goodness its been soooo long since I've written.  Here are some pics from the last month or so.  Matt brought home this ring necked snake from work one day.  Caleb of course became its 'best friend' if you define best friend as someone who twirls you around and drops you a lot.  I kept telling him to not put him on the ground to play with him but alas on day 2, the snake escaped the clutches of Caleb.
Jack started Baseball! His team is the Padres.  His team tied the first game and on Wednesday night they won 8-5.  He had 3 base hits on Wednesday night.  He is doing really well at it.
Ian and Jocelyn were here for a week.  We had a great time hanging out with them and getting to know Jocelyn better.  We miss you guys!!
Aunt 'JaJa' was a great hit with all the boys, especially Caleb.  She knows the way to a 4 yr olds heart thats for sure!  After we dropped them off at the airport he quietly cried in the back seat, he's such a tender heart.
While Ian and Jocelyn were here we had Weston dedicated to the Lord at church. It was so nice to have Ian and Jocelyn come up and stand with us as we prayed for little West.  We love Billy and Donna, our pastors, and we're glad to have them dedicate another of our sons to the Lord.  West is so special to us.  He had just had a febrial seizure the weekend before so we were so thankful that he was well.  Although that night he did break out in a rash all over his body from the antibiotic he was on.

The happenings

Things have been pretty quite around here lately.  I've been sick and my camera is collecting dust. Must take more pictures....
We got to see our old friends last week who moved up to Washington State.  It was so nice to see them and talk with them face to face.   Miss you James and Amy!!!
I've been in an organizing frenzy for the past couple of weeks.  Some of it still just in the planning stages, some of it taking shape.  The boys room is taking me awhile.   There so many little blocks and stuff hidden under dressers and clothes to sort out and reorganize.  Its exciting and a little overwhelming at the same time.  But I feel like when we moved in here that I just put stuff places without really putting it in the 'right' place.   So it will be nice to have things in their proper place.
Now we are looking forward to having Matts brother Ian and his beautiful wife Jocelyn come and stay with us for a week.  We will be also hopefully having Weston's baby dedication at the church soon.  Speaking of West, he likes to play light sabers with the boys and is making gun noises too.  He thinks its so funny.

he...

Isn't he so cute?  He loves to sit on this chair beside me while I'm on the computer.  I turn on some music and he moves his mouth like he's singing and does a little dancing.

creations

I thought that today I would share some of the creations that the boys have made lately.  Today we made this model of a telegraph for Jacks science lesson.  It works by using an electromagnet made from a nail and battery, the nail taps against the paper clip and the sound is magnified by the styrofoam cup.   Jack and I sent messages to each other using Morse code, it was really fun!
A couple of weeks ago we put these wooden models together and the boys painted them.  I love these models, I get them at Michaels.  They are inexpensive and easy to put together.  Of course Calebs is the tarantula and Jacks is the camo tank below.

Backyard

Did I mention I love having a back yard?  Caleb loves finding little creatures.  He later kissed this snail and called him his new little friend.

A note

So its Monday morning. 7:54 am.  Drinking my coffee and checking in with the world through Facebook and Blogger (ha ha, is it the real world?).  Anyway, I've been wishing that I had some insightful thing to write about on here, some cool pictures to post, something..anything cool.  Well, this morning I just felt like writing so it may be random.
Weston took his first step last night, I missed it :( but heard everyone yell from the other room.
He can also reach the door handles on the doors and can pull them down, fortunately he cant pull them open yet.  He looks really cute standing on his tiptoes and shaking the handle.  He loves to be in the garage or in the bathtub and throws a big fit when I remove him from either.  Oh yeah he loves to eat sand at the beach.  Most kids try it once and then spit it out but he actually takes a little chubby fistful and shoves it in his mouth and then swallows it.  Can I tell you about the diapers he has after that? I won't go there.
Caleb Caleb.   I keep calling him Weston then Jack and then lastly Caleb.  I don't know why I keep doing that.  Especially since he is the one that I have to call to the most.  He is the wanderer in the family, the escape artist.  The one I have dreams about him getting lost.  But he is so sweet too.  He tells me he is going to keep me forever and calls me his sweetie of course that could be followed by "you have bad breath mom".  He is sometimes brutally honest.
Jack is going to be playing baseball this year.  He has try outs next Saturday.  He is really excited about it.
I am thinking about buying a fiddle and learning to play.  I've wanted to for a long time so I figured I should just try it, I don't want another year to go by with me just thinking about all the things I want to do and not doing them.
Ok, so now I have to go attend to children...It sounds like Weston is emptying the kitchen drawers again!
